Back to Basics – 5 week series with Sherry Katz

Basic classes give students of all levels the opportunity to return to the fundamentals of yoga in a fun, non-competitive environment. These classes introduce breathing techniques, emphasize proper alignment, and are designed to give you a firm foundation on which your practice can flourish. Perfect for students who have never practiced yoga before, who are returning to yoga after a break, or regular practitioners looking to brush up on their fundamentals.
5 classes for $75
One missed class can be made up in any Level 1 
Mother and Child Yoga (ages 8-13) with Allison Sorokin

Foster mutual respect, positive communication, and trust between moms (or any adult female role model) and daughter/son as we learn mindfulness, yoga and have fun!Mindfulness taught to children early in life can have a profound effect on developing coping skills for handling the daily stress and complex emotions that go hand in hand with our technology driven, fast paced world.

Activities for class will include basic individual and partner yoga, self-care / restorative practices, breath work, games, discussions, along with healthy, practical and peaceful ideas to practice at home and together.

No yoga experience necessary. $30 in advance per pair, $35 the day of.

 

Yoga Nidra-Guided Meditation for Relaxation with Mary Christensen

To quote Judith Lasater from the introduction in her book
Relax and Renew: “The antidote to stress is relaxation. To relax is to rest
deeply. This rest is different from sleep. Deep states of
sleep include periods of dreaming which increase
muscular tension, as well as other physiological signs of
tension. Relaxation is a state in which there is no
movement, no effort, and the brain is quiet.”
You will be guided on a journey
leading to a profound conscious rest ( not sleeping ) while
lying in your most comfortable version of Savasana. As
you are listening and following my voice while resting,
your mind is gently occupied and will not revert to its
typical habits of remembering, anticipating or judging.
This provides a mental respite for your mind, and your
body tends to more quickly shift into the rest and digest
part of the nervous system.
No yoga experience necessary.
Preregistration is suggested.             Cost:$15

Share the joy of yoga with your 4-7 year old child.

Join Allison and Hannah for a fun filled playdate, yoga style.

Through mindful games, songs, and of course yoga poses – you and your child will enjoy priceless time together while building a foundation of body awareness, compassion, and confidence. Most importantly time well spent TOGETHER!

Research shows that children who practice yoga-based movement, conscious breathing, and mindfulness activities are better able to regulate their emotions, manage stress and calm themselves.

Workshop/Series Cancellation policy:

Cancellations prior to 48 hours of event will be fully refunded. Cancellations within 48 hours of event will be refunded on studio credit. Cancellations made within 24 hours of event will not be granted refunds. We appreciate your understanding as many of our events sell out and have waiting lists.
