Jamie’s classes are rooted in compassion and loving kindness, leading students through an experience that is unique to their needs.

Jennifer Johnson grew up on a small farm in New Jersey, where childhood cultivated in her a deep love and respect for Mother Nature. Yet drawn by the culture and diversity of New York City, she attended Columbia University, and graduated with BA in psychology in 1996. That same year she took her first yoga class at Jivamukti Yoga Center, and quickly grew enamored with the practice.
Wanting to share what affected her so profoundly, Jen completed the Sivananda Yoga teachers training course in 1999. In May 2003, she completed Jivamukti’s 300–hr Residential Teacher Training, and in June 2006, she completed the Jivamukti Yoga Teacher 800–hr Advanced Certification Program. Jen is also currently completing her BS in Nursing at Rutgers University. She looks forward to combining a nursing practice with yoga to more fully serve the community we all share.
Jen’s sweet teaching style is rooted in her devotion to Mother Nature. Her classes are challenging and uplifting, and inspire students to seek the truth of their own nature~ that which is happiness, peace and joy.
Abhaya has trained as an Integral Yoga and YLS Yoga/Meditation Instructor. She is a disciple of Rev. Jaganath Carrera who is the founder of the Yoga Life Society. Abhaya is also a Master Energy therapist and Intuitive/ThetaHealer. Her understanding of the human body and the energy field make her classes insightful journeys into the not only the physical, but also the emotional, mental and spiritual components of your being.
Abhaya teaches yoga as meditation in movement. She believes that your yoga practice is not only a service to yourself, but the greatest service you can do for others. By taking the time for your own self healing, you can serve your family and the community from a much more balanced, patient and compassionate place.

For as far back as I can remember, I have struggled with negative thought patterns, hyper-activity, and an inability to focus. After my first yoga class, my life started to change drastically. I realized how powerful and healing the effects of the yoga practice are -and how much I desire to share this with other people.
After a few years of practicing, I decided to get certified through the Laughing Lotus to make my dream a reality. Since then, I've been working with so many amazing teachers from all different backgrounds such as Kundalini, Iyengar, Vinyasa, and a mix of different styles. I have incorporated much of what I've learned into my own practice and teaching.
I encourage all students to allow themselves to tune in to the experience of Inner Freedom and Love that happens with the practice. My Intention is to offer classes that keep students at all levels excited and inspired to keep practicing, to keep showing up to themselves, and for myself: to always remain a student.
Love and Gratitude to: My parents for helping me through my training, my best friend, Adriana Rizzolo, for being a constant inspiration and teacher in my life from the beginning. Paul Manza, for being a source of inspiration as a teacher and great friend. And of course, B.K.S. Iyengar, Yogi Bhajan, and so many more
