Jamie Segal Hanley, Founder & Director

Elevate Yoga teacher Jamie Hanley

Jamie Segal Hanley has been practicing yoga since 2003, and completed the 200 hour Bright Spirit Yoga Teacher Training in 2008. After spending six years working in cosmetics marketing, Jamie decided it was time to help others find inner beauty through yoga, and opened Elevate Yoga in May 2009. A Holmdel native, she is excited to bring an authentic yoga experience to her hometown, and seeks to create a safe and welcoming community to support the ongoing practice of yoga. Jamie’s classes are rooted in compassion and loving kindness, leading students through an experience that is unique to their needs.

Jennifer Johnson

Elevate Yoga teacher Jennifer Johnson

Jennifer Johnson grew up on a small farm in New Jersey, where childhood cultivated in her a deep love and respect for Mother Nature. Yet drawn by the culture and diversity of New York City, she attended Columbia University, and graduated with BA in psychology in 1996. That same year she took her first yoga class at Jivamukti Yoga Center, and quickly grew enamored with the practice.

Wanting to share what affected her so profoundly, Jen completed the Sivananda Yoga teachers training course in 1999. In May 2003, she completed Jivamukti’s 300–hr Residential Teacher Training, and in June 2006, she completed the Jivamukti Yoga Teacher 800–hr Advanced Certification Program. Jen is also currently completing her BS in Nursing at Rutgers University. She looks forward to combining a nursing practice with yoga to more fully serve the community we all share.

Jen’s sweet teaching style is rooted in her devotion to Mother Nature. Her classes are challenging and uplifting, and inspire students to seek the truth of their own nature~ that which is happiness, peace and joy.

Dina Crosta

Yoga began to weave its way into Dina's life during her last year of college when a friend would tell her great stories about her experiences of practicing

yoga. Dina was intrigued by the beauty and fluidity of yoga but was hesitant to bring it into her life. It wasn't until she entered "the real world" and befriended a woman aptly named Hope that yoga began to dance into Dina's life. Hope convinced her to attend a yoga class where she met Emily Dubin (now Huresky), her first Anusara teacher. As soon as she came into her first Down Dog and felt both the challenge and the freedom in it, she knew that this was something she wanted to experience again. Seven years later Dina has seen her life moved in so many ways by her connection to practicing yoga - the most profound being the ever-widening circle of friends, teachers and students and the ever-deepening connection to herself. She is forever grateful to all of her teachers both through yoga and throughout her life. Dina aspires to inspire in others all that yoga has graciously given to her.

Nina Nappi

Nina Nappi began practicing yoga at the age of 17 as part of a fitness regimen and soon found herself enamored with all the benefits   that existed beyond the physical. Two years later she attended Kripalu and completed her 200 hr teacher training.
For six years she taught yoga throughout New Jersey as she continued her education in English Literature, Psychology, and Secondary Education. She now teaches English at Monmouth Regional and adores the connection that exists between writing and yoga philosophy, which she works to weave in to every lesson.
So while the majority of her students work off the mat, she still finds herself drawn to teaching lessons on the mat as well.

Abhaya Cordova

Abhaya Cordova is a Master Energy Therapist, Massage therapist, Yoga instructor and Theta Healing Teacher. She offers a spiritual perspective to bodywork understanding of the human energy field. She has studied the human body and the effect of the mind and emotions on the body's healing ability since 1999. Abhaya's philosophy is to support the healing process by clearing old thoughts and patterns so the spirit can reveal its true nature, which is peace. The body has the innate ability and wisdom to heal itself; we must clear the way to allow that healing to take place. She offers instruction in Integral and YLS Inspired Yoga.
