Class Descriptions

Creating Community One Breath at a Time.

Beginner Friendly Yoga with Alicia Somma-Hodgskin

For the new or continuing yoga student, a beginner class consisting of the fundamentals of yoga practice including meditation, yogic breathing, gentle yoga flow, standing and balancing postures with an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, alignment and ease of movement. We will end the class with a period of relaxation.

 

Flow & Let Go with Christine Dates or Alicia Somma-Hodgskin

A harmonious blend of mindful flow and quieting yin and restorative poses.  Open level, everyone is welcome to experience this balancing practice. 

 

Open Level with Lisa Cronin

An all levels practice, this class combines mindful flow and awareness of breath at a moderate pace. Some prior yoga experience suggested, newer students are welcome. Open Flow classes may include meditation, core focus, or be prenatal friendly depending on the teacher. 

 

Open Level with Dina Crosta or Jamie Hanley or Gina Rafkind

An all levels practice, this class combines mindful flow and awareness of breath at a moderate pace. Some prior yoga experience suggested, newer students are welcome. Open Flow classes may include meditation, core focus, or be prenatal friendly depending on the teacher. 

 

Open Level Slow Flow with Dorothy Nappi

An all levels practice, this class combines mindful flow and awareness of breath at a moderate pace. Some prior yoga experience suggested, newer students are welcome. Open Flow classes may include meditation, core focus, or be prenatal friendly depending on the teacher. 

 

Restorative & Reiki with Sherry Katz

A gentle restorative yoga class that makes use of props to support the body in opening. A healing practice for mind and body. Open to all levels.

 

Yoga for Your Immune System with Sherry Katz

This Level 1 class is based on Jillian Pransky’s Yoga Therapy and the Yoga4Cancer Methodology. Almost everyone can benefit from boosting the immune system and tapping into conscious relaxation for overall good health. All are welcome, including but not limited to cancer patients, survivors and those who have auto immune disorders.

 

Sunday Serenity (Prenatal Friendly) with Alicia Somma-Hodgskin

A peaceful blend of slow flow vinyasa, restorative, meditation, yoga nidra, and other healing practices to bring you into balance. Prenatal friendly, modifications are offered for expecting mothers.

 

Community Meditation with Alicia Somma-Hodgskin

A 30-minute meditation lesson to get you started or help you improve your existing practice. This is a cash-only, donation-based class.

 

Yoga for Cancer with Sherry Katz

Based on Tari Prinster’s Y4C methodology, this beginner class is designed to address the needs of cancer patients and caregivers. Join us to build strength, stimulate the immune system, build bone density, manage side effects, improve sleep, reduce anxiety and practice conscious relaxation in restorative poses. Due to the nature of this class, sign up is requested to maintain small classes.

 

Gentle Yoga (Prenatal Friendly) with Alicia Somma-Hodgskin

An all levels slow flow practice focusing on the mindful connection of movement and breath. Classes may incorporate yin and restorative yoga, and always include a deeply relaxing savasana.

 

Teen Yoga with Aromatherapy with Julie Mason

A class dedicated to teens ages 13+ to relieve the stress and pressure of everyday life, and embark in the journey of loving their true self. Every week the class will be based around a theme connected to a variety of essential oils. Each class will include asana, pranayama, and relaxation while enjoying the healing benefits of essential oils. All levels of yoga are welcomed.

 

Stretch and Breathe with Aromatherapy with Julie Mason

Enjoy the healing benefits of essential oils as you are guided through an open level practice that will consist of pranayama (breath work) with essential oils, holding deep postures to stretch the body, and a combination of mindful, gentle movement.

 

Open Level Core Strength with Joy-Michele Johnson

An all levels practice, this class combines mindful flow and awareness of breath at a moderate pace. A core strength focus helps to promote back health. Some prior yoga experience suggested, newer students are welcome.

 

Chair Yoga with Lisa Cronin

Chair yoga is a gentle practice that invites you to find mobility while supported by the use of a chair. Perfect for people working from home, for beginners, and with limited mobility. It will help increase flexibility and strength while calming the mind.

 

Yin Yoga with Liz Tyburczy

Yin Yoga is the gentle application of tension and compression to encourage a healthy phase change in the fascia. The use of longer passively held postures work the deep connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Holding postures for an extended period of time gently stretches and rehabilitates the connective tissues that form our joints; the magic in yin is time not intensity. There is a focus on the breath, being present in the moment, relieving tension and letting go. 

 

Advancing Your Practice with Christine Dates or Dina Crosta

This is a teacher-led community style practice that is open for practitioners that are comfortable moving through a class with minimal instruction, self-directed choices, and a willingness to explore yoga postures and movement approaches that can deepen and enhance their current physical asana practice. Minimal hands-on adjustments, occasional partnering with other students and the use of props are all potential components of this class. Some experience with yoga is recommended.

 

Face Yoga with Lauren Grogan

Lauren Grogan, Holistic Health Coach and Registered Yoga Teacher, will be offering a 1-hour Face Yoga seminar. She will discuss exercises and practices to strengthen and tone the muscles of the face, relieve facial tension, and invite hydration into the skin. This seminar will be interactive, informative and silly as we all move our faces together online! 1-page handout of all of the exercises will be provided to those who attend.

 

Kundalini Yoga & Meditation with Nicole Smith-Levay

Kundalini Yoga & Meditation practice offers a unique set of exercises that generate and organize energy and deliver you into a greater state of awareness. These exercises, called Kriyas, include meditation, chanting, breathing, and specific yoga poses. The class works on strengthening your nervous system, balancing your glandular system, purifying the body, and calming the mind. Also within the practice are built-in moments of stillness where we sit quietly and awaken to our Self. After class, you’ll leave refreshed and ready for the day.

 

Open Level with Functional Movement with Dina Crosta

An all levels practice, this class combines mindful movement and awareness of breath. Learn to apply principles of yoga to life and movement off your yoga mat. Some prior yoga experience suggested, newer students are welcome.

 

Open Level & Meditation with Gina Rafkind

A well rounded, all levels class focusing on mindful connection of breath and movement, and incorporating meditation techniques.
